Border States Electric Names Dan Essig Alliance Manager

Daniel L. Essig has been named Alliance Manager for Border States Electric’s (BSE’s) new Albertville, Minnesota, branch that was added to support the integrated supply contract with Xcel Energy.
Essig joined BSE in October 2007 as a Customer Service Representative in the company’s Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, branch. Before joining BSE, he worked for United Electric, New Brighton, Minnesota, for more than 15 years in various functions including warehouse, city desk, inside sales, and city desk supervisor. The last seven years with United Electric, he was Branch Manager for the company’s Plymouth, Minnesota, location.
Essig and his wife, Vonda, live in Andover, Minnesota. They have one daughter, MacKenzie.
BSE provides products and services to the construction, industrial, and utility markets. Active employees own 100 percent of the company under the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The employee-owned company has about 1,300 employees and 60 branch operations in 14 states and Mexico. BSE is the 10th largest electrical distributor and one of the 100 largest private ESOP companies in the United States. Corporate headquarters are located in Fargo.
