Border States Electric Names Seger Vice President

The Board of Directors for Border States Electric (BSE) announces Jason Seger has been appointed Vice President Operations and Inventory and to the company's Executive Council.

Seger joined BSE in November 1999 as part of the Utility Marketing team. He has worked as a Material Requirements Planning Specialist, Sales and Marketing Coordinator for the utility market, and Purchasing Manager. In May 2009, he was named Director of Inventory and Operations. In addition to his regular duties, he has played major roles in the company’s integration of acquisitions.

Seger is a member of APICS The Association for Operations Management, the Institute for Supply Management, and Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Operations Management and Industrial Technology Advisory Board.

He, and his wife, Jackie, live in Fargo. They have two sons, Logan and Andrew, and a daughter, Rachel.

The Executive Council assists the Board of Directors in long-term planning, setting priorities and enhancing communications across the management structure of the company.

BSE provides products and services to the construction, industrial, and utility markets. Active employees own 100 percent of the company under the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The employee-owned company has about 1,300 employees and 60 branch operations in 14 states and Mexico. BSE is the 10th largest electrical distributor and one of the 100 largest private ESOP companies in the United States. Corporate headquarters are located in Fargo.
