Border States Electric Names Kevin Donnalley Alliance Manager

Kevin Donnalley has been named Alliance Manager for Border States Electric’s (BSE’s) new Denver, Colorado, branch that was added to support the integrated supply contract with Xcel Energy.

Donnalley joined BSE in April 1997 as a part of a management trainee program. In September 1997, he moved to an Inside Industrial Sales position. He was named Southwest Operations Manager in 1999 and then became Branch Operations Manager. In 2005, he moved to Corporate Operations Manager, and in July 2007, he was named South Central and Southwest Regions Corporate Operations Manager. In January 2008, he was named Branch Manager and led the day-to-day operations of the company’s Wentzville, Missouri, branch.

Before joining BSE, Donnalley spent 15 years as a professional football player and college football coach. He was drafted in the 7th round by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1981. From 1976 to 1980, he played football for North Dakota State University, Fargo, North Dakota, where he received his master’s degree in education in 1987.

Donnalley and his wife, Clare, live in Aurora, Colorado. They have two grown children, Jason and Lauren.

BSE provides products and services to the construction, industrial, and utility markets. Active employees own 100 percent of the company under the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The employee-owned company has about 1,300 employees and 60 branch operations in 14 states and Mexico. BSE is the 10th largest electrical distributor and one of the 100 largest private ESOP companies in the United States. Corporate headquarters are located in Fargo.
