Border States Electric (BSE), Fargo, North Dakota, has selected Jason King, Jesse Herrera, and Randy Wooledge to participate in the company’s Management Trainee Program.
BSE’s Management Trainee Program is designed to give each trainee exposure to all aspects of the company’s business through hands-on training and development. They will also enhance their personal leadership skills by leading projects, supervising small groups, presenting to a variety of audiences and working with the Board of Directors and Executive Council members.
Training will be provided using several learning methods including on-the-job, project assignments, textbook studies, and course/seminar attendance. The curriculum includes training programs from the National Association of Electrical Distributors such as EDGE, Warehouse Pro, Counter Pro, and EPEC. The training program may last up to 24 months.
“Our Management Trainee Program provides opportunities and challenges for high potential employees,” Tammy Miller, CEO said. “It also helps ensure that we have well-trained individuals to fill current and future management needs resulting from growth and retirements.”

Management Trainees
Jason King, Warehouse Supervisor – St. Cloud, Minnesota, Branch
Since June 2005, King worked as a warehouse associate for Minnesota Electric Supply Company. He joined BSE in April 2007 when BSE acquired Minnesota Electric. Before being named Management Trainee, he was the Warehouse Supervisor at BSE’s St. Cloud, Minnesota, branch. King grew up in Little Falls, Minnesota, and attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He and his wife, Michelle, live in St. Cloud, with their son, Caden.
Jesse Herrera, Warehouse Associate – Albuquerque, New Mexico, Branch
Herrera joined BSE in August 2006 as a Warehouse Associate. He grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and attended Ashford University in Clinton, Ohio, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Business Management. He and his wife, Taya, live in Albuquerque, with their children, Madison and Asher.
Randy Wooledge, Warehouse Supervisor – Sioux Falls, South Dakota Branch
Wooledge was born in Gann Valley, South Dakota. He moved to Sioux Falls in 2002 and joined BSE as a Warehouse Associate. He worked as a delivery truck driver before being named Warehouse Supervisor in 2004. Wooledge played a lead role in the renovation of the Sioux Falls Branch this past winter. He and his wife, Anne Marie, live in Sioux Falls. They have five grown children and two grandchildren.
